SAM M. STUMER, O.D.

THERAPEUTIC OPTOMETRIST

Dr. Stumer joins the staff of Envision Eye Care in Rehoboth Beach, DE after 32 years of practice in the Washington Metropolitan region. He is a Long Island native and has been interested in eyecare since he received his first pair of eyeglasses while in kindergarten. Dr. Stumer is a graduate of Emory University, Atlanta, GA and the S.U.N.Y. College of Optometry, N.Y., N.Y. He is residency trained and has held positions as Chief of Optometry at Kaiser Permanente of the Mid-Atlantic States and Clinical Director at TLC Laser Eye Centers, Fairfax and Tyson’s Corner, Virginia.

​​​​​​​Dr. Stumer has extensive experience in comprehensive eye care, including contact lens fitting, treatment and management of ocular disease, and the pre-and post-operative care of cataract and refractive surgery patients. He was recently recognized by Newsweek as one of the Top Eye Doctors in 2021. In his free time, he enjoys travel, the beach and the bike trail.
